Bembridge Sailing Club has an active cruising group, combining sailing and motor boats who will be enjoying an active summer programme this year in both UK and foreign waters.

BSC Cruise-in-Company 2020 – Open to sailing and motor cruisers!

The schedule for the BSC Cruise on the first May Bank Holiday is below.

Provisional Schedule:

Thursday 7 May

Sailing boats (+/- motor boats) depart home port for Yarmouth

(West going stream late morning)

Options for afternoon include:

Golf at Freshwater

Walk along River Yar to visit church and Red Lion Inn

Overnight Yarmouth Marina

Friday 8 May (BANK HOLIDAY)

Depart Yarmouth for Poole Harbour

(Late morning tide)

Optional starting date for fast motor boats going straight to Poole

Lunch/afternoon at anchor Poole Harbour (subject to timing).

Arrive Poole Quay Marina late afternoon

Pontoon drinks party to celebrate V-E day (hopefully with Poole Redwings)

Dinner in Poole

Overnight Poole Quay Marina

Saturday 9 May

Morning trip to Wareham in small boats, visit Wareham market, return late lunch

Afternoon at leisure, possibility visit RNLI museum


Day sail to Jurassic coast and/or Studland Bay and return

Dinner in Poole

Overnight Poole Quay Marina

Sunday 10 May

Depart for home

(Early morning east-going stream)

Possibility lunch at Cowes or Osbourne Bay depending on timing
